Morgan is the writer of the MIPS “Peace & Security Brief”, a monthly in-depth analysis on peace and conflict trends in Myanmar. He also provides supporting research to both the Monitoring & Analysis and Peacebuilding & Development initiatives at MIPS. Prior to joining the organization in September 2017, Morgan spent two years in southern China as a student of Chinese language. Morgan previously served as research assistant to a retired colonel at the United States Army War College in Pennsylvania, and as an intern at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C.
Morgan received a B.A. in Political Science and a Certificate of Security Studies from Dickinson College in 2014. He originally hails from Rhode Island, USA, but has spent more than 12 years in East and Southeast Asia. He is particularly interested in Myanmar-China relations and wider Southeast Asian culture and politics.
