The Federalism & Constitutional reform initiative at MIPS aims to support federalism negotiation at the Union Peace Conference—21st Century Panglong. The “Peace Dialogue Support on Federalism and Constitution” project is implemented in partnership with International IDEA and with funding provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. The project’s primary objective is to support stakeholders engaged in federal negotiations. MIPS and International IDEA are currently conducting comparative research on international experiences in federalism and constitutional federal arrangements. MIPS aims to contextualize international lessons for Myanmar’s needs to produce a list of options for federal negotiators. Throughout the period of implementation, MIPS will work closely with stakeholders to achieve alternative solutions and avoid deadlocks. The initiative is led by Dr. Andrew and supported by Htet Htet Win.
